Ceramics Laminated Guide- This is an illustrated material and technique guide that is found in the ceramics studio in my classroom. This laminated visual step guide is provided while working on coil pot projects.
Coil Pot Step Guide Example- This is an example illustrated step guide that is located in the ceramics station in my classroom. Laminated visual step guides are available in each material studio and provide illustrated and written steps for each media.
Texture Tactile Tile- Having tactile examples in the art room is helpful for all students to see and feel the materials that they are using. This tactile tile is used when working on coil building.
Ceramics Illustrated Tool Kit Guide- This illustrated tool kit is used for student organization of materials and autonomy in the classroom. It is also to provide students with the visual vocabulary when working in this specific media.
Noodle Grip- This is a cut pool noodle added to the handle of a stamp. The pool noodle allows for more supported grip as well and a more assistive tool to apply pressure to or to push down on.
Ink Bingo Dabbers- These dabbers are refillable and can be used with a wide range of materials. In my class we use them mostly with liquid watercolor and can be used for drawing, while providing a larger surface area for students to hold the material.
Brush Cleaning Tray- These are IKEA pasta colanders! In my classroom we use them to clean our paint brushes. My sinks are very deep and this tool eliminates the difficulty of reaching the bottom of the sink. Also, this tray provides and alternative for students that have a tactile aversion to cleaning brushes on their hands!
Material Step Guides for material processes.
Pencil Guide- This is a visual guide to the drawing pencils for students to be able to visually connect the drawing pencils to a value scale. This creates a visual guide for students to organize their own commercial.
Table Directions- Visual table directions when having student centers set-up for classes, reminds students what was modeled or demonstrated for that studio center and what steps they should follow while working.
